A Navy White Wedding

Meridyth and Dan had a traditional Navy wedding held at Christ and St. Lukes in Norfolk. The church is beautiful! The only issue is no photography is permitted during the ceremony. I can see why officiates don’t like to have a photographer clicking away the whole ceremony as it can be distracting. I’ve attended weddings and winced at how obtrusive photographers can get. I never forget that this is your wedding first and I always try my best to be as discrete as possible. That being said, no photography at all is tough, but with the help of a tri-pod and a long lens from the very back of the church I was able to capture a few choice moments for the bride and groom.

After the ceremony all the guests gathered in the courtyard and Meridyth and Dan walked through an arch of swords. A unique military tradition that is meant to ensure the couple’s safe transition into their new life together. Afterwards we took photographs in Ghent taking full advantage of the perfect evening and the reception commenced at Shifting Sands in Dam Neck.

I related news… I am also excited to present an new album option. These books are hardcover with a custom photo layout attached to the album cover. They come in a variety of sizes and layout styles. The best part they are very affordable, pricing under $300. I used Meridyth and Dan’s photographs to create a sample album and thought this would be a good opportunity to show off some of the pages from the book.
