Kara and Joe were married on the hottest day of the year with the heat index hitting 107 degrees. After the ceremony at the Sacred Heart Church in Norfolk, the cocktail hour and reception began outdoors at the beautiful Hermitage Foundation Museum. And I’m not going to lie – it was steamy! But so was the love between Kara and Joe. The two are a perfect match!

I photographed All Hallows Eve at the Hermitage Museum last weekend. It is such a neat event! The grounds there are so perfect for celebrating the fall holiday. I especially loved seeing all of the children dressed up.
I found out that my 30th birthday was on a Saturday when I received a request from a couple to photograph their wedding on September 13, 2008. At first I was hesitant to work on my big bday, but then I remembered how lucky I am to being doing what I love for a living and that sometimes running your own business takes a little sacrifice.
And on the day of I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to work with! Suzanne was so sweet and even surprised me with a petite four with a candle in it when I arrived at her parents home. She and Andy were so much fun. Their reception at the Chrysler museum in Norfolk was full of smiles and laughter!
