Virginia Beach Convention Center

Tricia and Chris were married at the Virginia Beach Convention Center. I love all the horizontal and vertical lines in and around the center. It is such a contemporary place to have a wedding and it’s neat to work there and take in all of these elements into the photographs.

Tricia and Chris were so laid back and easy to be around – it made shooting their wedding a breeze. They also had a great sense of humor. One of the most memorable moments was when the recipient of the garter was blindfolded and placed the garter up the leg of what he thought was the lovely bouquet cacher and it instead was the hairy leg of one of the groomsmen. The look on his face was priceless! See below.

Bride with a Pearl Earring

The whole time I was editing Maria’s bridal session the same vision kept coming to mind. Vermeer’s famous painting, Girl with a Pearl Earring. Of course Maria didn’t have a pearl earring or hail from the seventeenth century, but something about her look is reminiscent of the famous work.
