My Best Friends Wedding

So my oldest friend tied the knot last weekend at the Colonial Heritage in Williamsburg. And I finally got to experience what it’s like to be the Maid of Honor. Well – actually I should say Matron of Honor, but that sounds so old. It was such a beautiful wedding and I appreciated being on the other side of the camera for a change. Although being the obsessed photographer I am – I couldn’t help but sneak a few shots of Nicole and Greg.

Bride with a Pearl Earring

The whole time I was editing Maria’s bridal session the same vision kept coming to mind. Vermeer’s famous painting, Girl with a Pearl Earring. Of course Maria didn’t have a pearl earring or hail from the seventeenth century, but something about her look is reminiscent of the famous work. Amanda’s Senior Portrait

Amanda is graduating from Old Dominion University MBA program this spring and wanted to mark the achievement with professional photos for an announcement. Amanda is from rural PA and wanted to take pictures that would reflect her hometown. We found some great locations here in Virginia Beach to create a sense of openness and nature.
