Cheryl and Jason are such an exuberant couple. After our first meeting I remember my cheeks hurting from smiling and laughing so much! So it was of no surprise that their wedding day was filled with so much playful joyfulness! They were married outside at the beautiful Church Point Manor and then celebrated at the Water Table with bright and coastal decor.

Just like every mom I love to take photographs of my babies.

I have a lot of people ask me for advice about how to take better photos of their children using their own cameras. Here are a few tips that I like to share –

1. Turn off the flash and use a room in your home with a lot of natural light. Or even better go outside, but keep in mind that lighting is best in the early morning or late afternoon.

2. Think about the backgrounds. Keep it simple with solid colors or natural settings.

3. If you have an SLR, but not sure how to use it. Try selecting the portrait setting which is still automatic, but will choose the best shutter speed and aperture for this type of photography.

4. Have fun. Your baby will react to laughing and silly faces with smiles and excitement in their eyes.
